You can “test drive” your new smile at home for 1–2 days, then come back in to decide if you want the permanent change.

- This temporary bonding is completely safe and reversible—it doesn’t remove or change any tooth structure.
- The effects will last anywhere from 24–48 hours, depending on how careful you are—eating sticky or tough foods during your “test drive” will make them wear off more quickly.
- You can easily remove them yourself when you want to—take advantage of the full 48 hours, or remove them after 2 hours if you’d like.

The Smile Test Drive - Reshaping The World Of Dentistry!
So not only did I learn to do smile virtual consults, I became part of a group of smile virtual dentists. We do things a little bit differently and one of the techniques that I learned to do, which for me has proven to be one of the most valuable communication tools, is something called a smile test drive. It is one thing for me to show people, before and after pictures of cases that I have done, and improvements that I have made on other people’s teeth on other people’s smiles. Well now with a smile test drive what we do, what I have learnt to do and now use as frequently as I can – a patient comes in, I temporarily place on top of their teeth some tooth coloured material I shape it up, I establish good alignment across the front, I establish the bite to be leveled with the eyes. I develop a uniform colour and most importantly I develop symmetry in the smile.
This is temporary, the patient – I set the patient up and I hand them the mirror and it is one thing to see on other people’s teeth and other people’s smile what your smile could look like, it is totally different to see what your teeth actually could look like on your smile, when you look into a mirror. It is something that lasts a day or two, they wear it home they show their spouse, they again get to experience in advance and there is no, there is no obligation at this point in the patient’s standpoint okay. There is no obligation to move forward. This is what I can do for you, this is what it will look like – go home drive it around the block a few times, like when you are buying a car and see if you like it!
