How can you whiten my smile?

We offer three whitening solutions for your convenience: a series of one-hour sessions that are in-office, a whitening take-home kit, or our newest option: the Liquid Smile whitening pen that is available for pick-up at our dental office. Your smile will be whiter than ever in no time, leaving you with plenty of time to enjoy life!

What are the benefits of teeth whitening?

As one of the most sought after cosmetic dentistry procedures in San Antonio for quickly improving your smile other than dental veneers and LUMINEERS, whitening (also referred to as bleaching) is one of the fastest, easiest, and least invasive ways of cosmetically improving the appearance of your smile. Treatment options can be customized to fit any budget, time-frame, and individual wants and needs of our patients.

What does the whitening solution consist of, and how does it work?

Teeth whitening is exactly what it sounds like: a way to whiten your chompers so that you are left with a dazzling smile. Depending on which treatment option you select, the solution will contain different concentrations of carbamide peroxide– not actually bleach. Carbamide peroxide also has anti-bacterial properties which can be beneficial to the gums and the prevention of gum disease. The highest concentrations are for in office use only.

How white your smile can get varies from person to person, depending on the type of stains that are present. Before you decide to start any treatment, please read into the following description of the treatment options, and speak with your San Antonio TX cosmetic dentist, Dr. Camacho.

In-Office whitening Solution

Most patients choose an in-office solution if they are looking to have major tooth color change in a short period of time.

The procedure involves careful and controlled use of a fairly high-concentration cosmetic agent that is applied to the teeth by one of our friendly dental hygienists. This whitening agent typically stays on them for intervals of 15 to 20 minutes over the course of an hour. In some cases, patients with darker staining may require additional whitening sessions to give the optimum whitening effect.

Take-Home tooth whitening Solution

Our take-home whitening kits offer a way to whiten teeth while at home, so you can maintain your white smile over a long period of time. There are two options for take-home use: trays or our new Liquid Smile whitening pens.

These kits include an easy-to-use, and safe prescription whitening gel that stays on for anywhere from an hour to overnight, depending on the strength of the prescription gel. Custom-fitted whitening trays hold the gel in place on the teeth, so you don’t have to worry about discomfort.
